How Plug-N-Protect Can Deter Crime 

Plug-N-Protect deters crime the same way conventional alarm system do - with a highly visible blinking LED light. The signs shown above are some other simple, yet effective means to keep unwanted visitors out. 

Components of a Traditional Alarm System

Most vehicle alarm systems are made up of one or more of the following:

  • A blinking light to convey that the car is equipped with an alarm.

  • A siren/horn to draw attention to the area if someone breaks in.

  • A mechanism to disable the ignition.

The Fear Factor

We have learned to equate a red blinking light in vehicles with loud horns and sirens.  We take extra care around vehicles with blinking lights for fear of setting off the alarm.  Put this fear, or element of doubt, in the mind of a thief, and you can often deter them from breaking into your vehicle.

How/Where it Works

Even the most sophisticated alarm system can not completely stop a determined thief from breaking into your vehicle.  By protecting your vehicle with a theft deterrent, such as the Plug-N-Protect Alarm Indicator, you can reduce your chances of becoming a victim of crime.

Even though the Plug-N-Protect Alarm Indicator won't sound an alarm (or a false alarm), or disable your ignition system, it does provide the same visual deterrent traditional alarm systems provide.  At night or in dimly lit areas, which is where most vehicular crime occurs, it is difficult to distinguish whether it is a traditional car alarm, or a Plug-N-Protect Alarm Indicator.

How Plug-N-Protect Complements existing Alarm Systems

Even if your vehicle already has a conventional alarm system, you can still use the  Plug-N-Protect Alarm Indicator for added protection against crime. 

If your current alarm system...

  • does not have a blinking light

  • has a light, but it is not very bright

  • has a light, but it is very small

  • has a light, but it is mounted in a location that is not easily visible from both sides of the vehicle
